Camille Juban has broken the Guinness world record for the longest duration of surfing a wave in Peru's iconic Chicama.
The French sailor has ridden the longest windsurfing wave ever, with a total time of 7 minutes and 3 seconds.
In September 2012, Peruvian surfer Cristobal de Col performed 34 carved turns on a single wave at Chicama.
His wave lasted 2 minutes and 20 seconds and put him in the Guinness Book of World Records.
The Peruvian gem of Chicama is located halfway between Lima and the border of Ecuador.
It is considered one of the longest waves in the world. In theory, surfers can ride a wave for 2.5 miles (4 kilometers).
Camille Juban's new windsurfing record has already been certified and confirmed by the Guinness World of Records.
The stunt was completed on August 19, 2013.
