Eddie Solomon has left us. The incredible bodyboarder fought bravely against a rare stage 4 Hi Grade T-Cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma for more than 10 months.
"Today we lost a great brother, a friend, a husband, a father, a son. Eddie Solomon. I miss you terribly, thank you for sharing life with me. I will remember you always. Forever my brother", said Jeff Hubbard on his Facebook page.
Solomon was an extraordinary bodyboarder Dana Point, California. He was the founding member of 662 Mob and has been spreading the love for bodyboarding for a long time.
In the last months, there was a global plea for help. Eddie needed to go to Germany for treatment and the overall treatment costs were very high. Insurance wasn't covering and supporting his fight against the lethal disease.
"Thank you to my beautiful fiancé Tamara, my son Eddie, my mom and dad, my brothers and my sister, and all my friends for the support", he said after receiving all messages and financial support from anonymous world bodyboarders.
Solomon initially felt a neck pain and went through the X-Ray. Doctors detected a tumor in the chest, by the spinal cord. Eddie began to have problems breathing and went through surgery and chemotherapy.
The American rider will forever be remembered for the human being and sportsman he was. He is survived by wife Tamara and son Eddie Junior.
There will be a paddle-out at Salt Creek in Dana Point, CA, in memory and celebration of the life of Eddie Solomon, a fearless wave rider and all around inspiring person.
It is scheduled to 12 noon, Saturday 24th, at Gravels. The gathering will be on the beach beforehand, by the north tower at Gravels.
