Melissa Marquardt: waking up at night

Melissa Marquardt has joined the Body Globe wakeboarding team.

Marquardt has been wakeboarding at a high level for over ten years and is widely regarded as the most stylish women's rider. Residing in Canyon Lake, California, Melissa also travels the world and has become one of the sport's top ambassadors.

That's why she's currently in Germany, spreading the universal language of Awesome with a few of her sponsors. Melissa will be rocking Body Glove wetsuits and swimwear.

She began her current trip in Holland with Nicola Butler, where they rode and filmed with Nik Summers, the European distributor for Liquid Force and GoPro.

Next, they headed to Langenfeld and The Bricks, two of the best cable parks in Germany (there are over 80 total cable parks in Germany alone).

Then, the pair went back to Holland to support a Monster Energy rail jam. Next, they will go to Nico Von Lerchenfeld's Cash for Tricks contest, then ride further south in Austria and Italy.

Wake Island Cable Park: California's brand new cable park

The Wake Island Cable Park is the latest star of the Liquid Force's cable park family.

The Wake Island Cable Park is California's first full size cable park, located in Sacramento. The 80-acre watersports park consists of a new state of the art five-tower Sesitec cable system, a two-tower beginner cable system (System 2.0), a paddleboarding lake, and a boat lake.

Wake Island has also partnered with Rad Rails as the exclusive rail provider of the entire park.

Rad Rails has quickly become an industry leader with its self wetting rails, engraved logos, and multitude of color options. All rails are made of CNC'd plastic composites right here in the United States.

"Wake Island is going to be a game changer for the entire West Coast! I just wish it had been around when I grew up in Northern California!", says Noel Carter, owner of Wake Island Cable Park.

The equipment will have a demo room fully stocked with Liquid Force wakeboards, bindings, wakeskates, vests and helmets.

The park is set for a soft launch this October, with a full grand opening party being planned for the Spring of 2013.

Nico von Lerchenfeld has had the time of his life at Surf Snowdonia, in Wales. But he was not there to surf.
