Kevin Pritchard claimed the 2015 Wind-NC Hatteras Wave Jam, at Ramp 55, in North Carolina. The American Windsurfing Tour (AWT) title will be decided in Hawaii.

Wave windsurfing owes a lot to the AWT. With seven events in the pocket, the circuit runs in spectacular venues and showcases some of the most talented sailors in the world. Being the penultimate event of the season, the Hatteras Wave Jam has had a decisive role in defining the overall title contenders.

The Pro Men's final had local windsurfer Casey Treichler, Morgan Noireaux, Boujmaa Guilloul and Kevin Pritchard. Noireaux caught big waves and landed a back loop - he finished third.

Guilloul went for goiters, 360s and back loops, and took second place. Pritchard, had a kite landing over him, but managed to control the final with a one-handed back loop.

Sam Bittner (Women), Casey Treichler (Amateur), Ferdinando Loffreda (Masters), Scott Shoemaker (Grand Masters), and Jake Schettewi (Youth) won the remaining divisions of the event.

The 2015 American Windsurfing Tour champions will be crowned at the Maui Aloha Classic, between October 28th and November 10th.

It is one of the sport's most forgotten disciplines. The stand-up bodyboarding movement had its heyday between the late 1980s and early 1990s, but it continues to be an exquisite art.
