And now for something completely different. Have you ever tried a stand-up paddle with a small, built-in windsurfing sail? Yes, it's been invented.

The reviews are interesting, and its simplicity invites us to try it. Why not? When the waves are not good, and you're tired of cruising around, just rig it.

The mast is already there, and all you have to do is slide out the sail, and ride away powered by the wind. Sailpaddle's original DaSail SUP Paddle is one of the first models to hit the market.

Its colorful sail offers you more than 12 square feet of sailing surface, and it might be a great option for windsurfing beginners, and downwind experiences.

Remember that this is not the same as a WindSUP, but it can be extremely fun. When finished with windsurfing, you can quickly switch from sailing to paddleboarding by sliding the rig back into the paddle.

The DaSail SUP Paddle is available in a lightweight version (2.1 pounds/970 grams), and in a standard model (2.3 pounds/1040 grams).

The push through, or punch through technique allows surfers to get past a small broken wave and reach the lineup without having to duck dive or turtle roll.
