Byron Kokkalanis: Greece is fired up

The European RS:X Windsurfing Championships 2013 have seen nearly 300 sailors competing at the Crocodiles de L'Elorn Club, Brest, France.

Byron Kokkalanis, from Greece, has managed to keep an eight-point lead over Shahar Zubari, from Israel, and claimed the Men's European RS:X Windsurfing title. Pierre Le Coq secured bronze.

The overall Open results remain the same, with Britain's Olympic medallist Nick Dempsey in fourth. Fifth placed Louis Giard becomes the Under 21 class champion.

In the Women's division, Charline Picon managed a final three-point lead in front of Britain's Bryony Shaw and kept Spain's Blanca Manchon a mere nine points away.

In the overall Open competition, the ranking crowns Bryony Shaw, followed by Charline Picon, Blanca Manchon, Maayan Davidovich and Natalia Kosinska. Kamila Smektala, from Poland, wins the Under 21 class title.

Bautista Saubidet-Brikner is the RS:X Youth European Windsurfing champion, while Hadar Heller, from Israel, takes the RS:X Youth Girls title.

Nazaré probably is the most powerful beach break. The Portuguese big wave surfing spot is as exciting as it will test your limits - as a surfer and as a human being.
