Guy Cribb: faster than a cannon ball

Guy Cribb took part in part in the Extreme Sailing Series racing at Egypt Point during Cowes Week.

Cribb and two other windsurfers were competing against Team GAC Pindar, one of the Extreme 40s (40 foot long sailing boats)designed by two Olympic champions, which can reach speeds normally only achieved by motorboats.

Guy and World Tour professionals John Skye and Ross Williams took part in four races against the boat - and won three of them, even though the boat was travelling at more than 20 knots (about 22mph).

“That was awesome – we were flying, but they were too. We were both doing in excess of 20 knots of boat speed and I was surprised how evenly we were matched at such high speed.”, said Nick Moloney, skipper of Team GAC Pindar.
