Pawel Tarnowski and Bryony Shaw have been crowned the 2015 RS:X European champions, in Mondello Beach, in Italy.

In the Men's Senior fleet, the points were close with Tarnowski leading after a redress - a protest hearing that allowed him to claim valuable points. Despite winning the medal race, Byron Kokkalanis finished sixth.

The fight for the title was between two other contenders, but Dorian Van Rijsselberge ended up with a runner-up finish, and Luis Giard took the bronze medal.

"I still can't belive it, but it's real. Such a great feeling!" expressed Pawel Tarnowski.

The Women's Senior fleet was still very much open, and the racing was expected to be exciting as the athletes fought it out in a last chance for the crown. With only seven points separating the top 5, the key was good tactics.

It was a frustrating story for Malgorzata Bialecka, who had the lead all week but lost out on that special gold medal at the very last moment. Bryony Shaw came up with the goods, and Zofia Noceti-Klepacka took the bronze.

Sil Hoekstra and Noy Drihan were crowned the 2015 RS:X Youth European champions.
