The Association of Professional Bodyboarders (APB) has confirmed that Terry McKenna has returned to the organization as Chief Operating Officer.
The former IBA World Tour manager is back in the game. McKenna will join the APB World Tour, adding experience and his infectious enthusiasm to the competition. He's the new director of technical operations.
"Forget what's happened and focus on what's about to happen. Really looking forward to working with all the promoters and doing a few key events. It's an exciting time," says Terry McKenna, who left the former IBA World Tour unhappy with the way things were being done.
The Association of Professional Bodyboarders is currently led by Alex Leon, a passionate bodyboarder with many years of experience in the pro bodyboarding circuit.
Leon has confirmed that the Itacoatiara, Antofagasta and Arica events are locked in. The Encanto Pro is gearing up to deliver the single highest pay-cheque in the history of bodyboarding: 20 thousand dollars for the winner.
The APB World Tour believes that the Bodyboard Pro Festival, Panama Pro, Sintra Portugal Pro, and Fronton King will also help crowning a champion.
"It's a great foundation to relaunch the Tour from. The Star ranking allows a greater deal of flexibility for the promoters to run feasible events that fit their budgets," adds McKenna.
