In an exclusive interview for, Liam O'Toole, co-founder of the newly created Free Surf World Tour (FSWT), explains how the circuit will work. "It's time for change."

O'Toole is a former professional bodyboarder. He knows the sport, and how it has evolved through time. The Free Surf World Tour will not compete directly with the APB World Tour. Instead, it will give power to fans. They will decide who the best rider is.

1. Why have you decided to develop the Free Surf World Tour (FSWT)?
It's time for change. It's time to put the most talented bodyboarders on earth back in the crazy remote raw wave locations where bodyboarding belongs. It's time to give the power back to you; the fans, the loyal supporters of bodyboarding by allowing you to judge who you think is the best free surfer on earth.

The Frontón King 2014 will be surfed between 20th-23rd December, in Gáldar, Canary Islands.

In 2013, the most famous bodyboarding slab in Europe was left out of the professional circuit. But the Spanish riders wanted to keep a decent competition up and running.

Miguel Macias won the first ever Fronton King. Now, the event is bigger and better, with improved infrastructures, live online broadcasting and 5000 euros in prize money.

Tristan Roberts, Teresa Almeida, Yoshua Toledo, Carolina Botteri, and Amaury Lavernhe have claimed the five individual gold medals on offer at the 2014 ISA World Bodyboard Championship, held in Iquique, Chile.

Five bodyboarders from five different countries claimed top honours on the last day of competition. Tristan Roberts, from South Africa, stole the show in the Open Men's division.

"Words cannot describe how I feel right now. I was down after losing my Junior title in the last minutes, so I went to this heat and gave it all, and it paid off. I'm very happy! Thanks to all the South Africans back home for all your messages and all the South African team for their support," expressed Roberts.
