The final leg of the 2009 Rebel Sport Pro Tour is set to go down at Duranbah Beach during the RAW Nationals ’09 in November and the action will be red hot.
After 10 months of competition through Qld, NSW, Vic, SA and WA the Men’s title race is coming down to three distinct contenders.
Corey McClean from Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast is the current ratings leader after placing highly in most of the events on the Rebel Sport Pro Tour, including a win in the EBB Pro in WA.
“Game on ” said McClean.
“This is my home break so I will feel pretty comfortable out there, but Winny and Jake are awesome competitors”
“ I don’t know, I will just have to take it heat by heat but I would love to win the Tour on home turf in front of my friends and family” said Corey.
The perennial bridesmaid this year has been Jake Stone from Maroochydore. He has finished second in every single event he has entered and will be looking to go one better at D’bah.
“ I am keen to win the Rebel Sport Pro Tour” said Stone.

With small 3 feet waves, Jessica Becker won her 3rd event of the year(the others where Sopelana, Buzios and Isla de Margarita) and now goes to Canary Island very motivated.
“I’m stoked to win in Isla. This is my second win here in Isla but this is more important than last year since I’m current in 3rd position and I have real chances of a world title. Now my goal is the last event of the year at Confital”.
Dave Hubbard won the DK division and was crowned for the 4th time world champion. With 3 wins in 3 events, Dave had a 100% achievement this year. “I’m really happy to win all the 3 events that the DK division had. This was a very favorable year for the DK and I think that the division is gaining strength once more.” Said the champ
In the Open division, the locals had it all. Angelo Freda, beated in the final Sergio Alonso also from Venezuela.

Parguito Beach in Isla de Margarita, Venezuela, received today the first day of competition of the Bodyboarding Pro Festival 2009.
The event is an IBA woman and Drop Knee sanctioned event and distribute 1000 points on both divisions.
The waves were small with 0,5 meter with on shore winds. The first division to enter the water was the Men Open that counts points for the Latin American ranking. After, the first round of woman challenged the small waves at Parguito beach.
The standout and best score of the day was Brazilian Maylla Venturin. Maylla scored over 15 points and advanced to round 2.
“The waves are very small and we need to have a lot of luck to find a good set. I could fortunately find 2 solid waves that helped me advanced to the next round.”
