Lanzarote: battle ground for the kiteboarding competitions

The Lanzarote Kiteboard Pro 2010 is on the KPWT event schedule for 2010!

The PKRA, due to whatever reason have withdrawn from Lanzarote and do not have local commitment to host an event this year. Nacho Ignacio Herrero Lanz the local organiser has officially canceled the event with the Local Government.

In respect for the Local Government, Authorities of Lanzarote, Santa Surf, and KPWT, Maurico Toscano, the PKRA promoter, must stop immediately promoting the PKRA event of Lanzarote.

Mondial du Vent: that one is for the photo shoot

Today a myth has been put to rest… For all of you who believe that Lecaute is only known for it’s rainy, storm like weather conditions this is untrue.

Leucate is now known as the place where you can have the best of all weather conditions, good consistent wind, warm, sunny, cloudless blue skies and hundreds of spectators holding their breath as they watch the stunning riders out on the water from the beach.

Race director Erik Troostheide made a wise decision to run the competition this morning even though the wind forecast was a little deceiving. The wind picked up in strength pretty early this morning, and averaged 25-30 knots most of the day. The single eliminations got underway just after 9:00am.

Cabrinha Race Series: season five

Cabrinha is pleased to announce the 2010 Cabrinha Race Series. This will mark the FIFTH season of the Cabrinha Race Series, the series that introduced kite course racing to the world.

The series, hosted by the prestigious St. Francis Yacht Club, has established itself as ground zero for kite board racing world wide. With most of the world's best racers and champions having participated in the series, it has also been a proven test ground for most of the worlds successful R&D regarding boards and fins.

John Craig, St Francis Race Director has used his experience with the Cabrinha Race Series to secure the establishment/recognition of a kiteboard class with the US Sailing Association and then the International Sailing Federation. The first two US Nationals/North American Continentals (2007/08) were held by the St. Francis as well as the first Worlds in 2009.
