American Wave Machines: developing the future of robot surfing

American Wave Machines has announced the development of an iPhone and iPad app that will control the type of waves produced in their upcoming artificial surfing pools.

Artificial wave pools seem to be the Holy Grail of surfing in the future. But the future is now, and a new iPhone and iPad app is preparing to change the way we search and get surfing waves.

American Wave Machines is preparing the next generation of artificial wave pools with the new product PerfectSwell, a technology that promises an infinite variety of waves, from point breaks to beach breaks.

The installment of PerfectSwell is underway in Sochi, Russia. The 35,000 square foot PerfectSwell wave pool will open at the Sheksna Resort, nominated as Russia’s Leading Spa Resort by World Travel Awards.

With the PerfectSwell Wave App, surfers will have the power to change Nature by calling up their favorite waves, from the lineup or from shore, with their iPad or iPhone.

Wave direction, size, and intensity can be modified from an iPhone, allowing surfers to have the perfect session every time.

Coaches and trainers can manipulate the surf for the skill level and physical location of trainees in the pool. Surfers can record the ride with a built-in media option.
