Benji Brand claimed the 2019 Rip Curl Cup Padang Padang, in Bali, Indonesia.

The surfer from South Africa won the legendary tube riding event after receiving an inviting to compete from Mick Fanning.

The longest-running and most prestigious surf contest held in Indonesia ran for the 16th year and didn't disappoint.

Six-to-eight-foot cylinders were firing down the line, and all 16 athletes enjoyed pristine conditions.

Brand, who has improved his barrel riding skills on the North Shore of Oahu, sealed the deal with a tremendous last shot performance.

The final included an in-form Clay Marzo, Championship Tour surfer Matt Wilkinson, and local surfer Raditya Rondi. Benji was thrilled with the win.

"It was probably the best day of my life! I am so stoked to have won the event in pumping waves and to surf with a lot of my heroes was amazing," expressed Benji Brand.

The Balinese Pipeline saw the winner earning the two highest scores of the day a 9.67 and a 9.5, so The Cup is definitely in good hands.
