Christopher Schwarzenegger: get well soon, dude

Christopher Schwarzenegger, son of former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, has suffered a serious surfing accident on Malibu beach.

The 13-year-old has several broken bones and a collapsed lung. Despite the severe injuries, Christopher is expected to make a full recovery.

"It's like a boogie board accident, I think," Shriver said on the recorded emergency call. "He can't move off the beach. Maybe like broken ribs or something like that."

Meanwhile, Arnold and Maria have issued a joint statement.

"A few days ago, our son Christopher suffered an accident at the beach. While it has been a very scary week, Christopher is surrounded by his family and friends", they declare. "He is a brave boy and is expected to make a full recovery."

"On behalf of our entire family, we want to sincerely thank the paramedics and lifeguards who responded so swiftly, as well as the doctors, nurses, emergency room, and hospital staff who have cared for our son. They have been extraordinary to him and to us," said Maria and Arnold.

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver are ending their 25-year marriage after it was revealed that Arnold had fathered a child with another woman.

"It's like a boogie board accident, I think," Shriver said on the recorded emergency call. "He can't move off the beach. Maybe like broken ribs or something like that."
