What do you do when the wind and the maritime weather condition halt your surfing day? In Fistral Beach, UK, surfers and bodyboarders decided they really had to hit the water for a sunny session.

So, the Towan Bay and the harbour were the alternatives. Strange? No way. When the backwash of the high tide is great, everything is possible.

As you can see, here, locals enjoyed very nice waves and wipeouts, too.

Surfing China: the country is big, waves are everywhere

China has surf and even better it is best on an exotic pristine tropical island in the Wanning region of Hainan Island.

From the 27th of September till the 3rd of October an international surfing team formed by professionals, Ms. Holly Beck from California, Mr. Sam Bleakley from United Kingdom, Mr. Emiliano Cataldi from Italy and Mr. Erwan Simon from France, spent time in the magnificent island of Hainan, supporting the organization of the 2010 Wanning International Surfing Festival.

During this exciting period, the surfers, with the help of professional photographer Mr. John Seaton Callahan, discovered excellent waves on the Wanning coastline and now this team along with ASP Australasia will be all participating in an event that will take place from the 6th to the 8th of November 2010.

Rip Curl Pro Portugal: big waves expected

The greatest assemblage of surfing talent in history has converged onto the quaint Portuguese township of Peniche for Stop No. 8 of 10 on the 2010 ASP World Tour, the Rip Curl Pro Portugal, running from October 7 – 18, 2010.

Culminating the European leg of the season, the Rip Curl Pro Portugal comes at a crucial time for the 2010 ASP World Title race, with four surfers remaining in the hunt.
