Tamaroa McComb: hidden in a secret tube

Tamaroa McComb (Tahiti) has earned what seemed rightfully his, securing a fairytale victory at the TNS Rangiroa Pro Junior in Taumoto, Tahiti today.

McComb defeated Australian Mitch Crews, posting a perfect ten-point ride in the final to with the heat with 15.50 two-wave heat total to Crews’s 14.25 (both out of 20.00).

“I am so happy!” said McComb. “This is the best thing ever, it is the biggest contest I’ve won in Tahiti for sure!”

Josh Kerr: high flying winner at Margaret River

Josh Kerr claimed an incredible come-from-behind victory at the Association of Surfing Professionals 6 – Star Prime Rated Drug Aware Pro at Margaret River.

Kerr defeated the home town hero Taj Burrow in front of the largest crowd ever seen at Margaret River estimated at 7000.

Burrow appeared to have a stranglehold on the final when he opened with an excellent 8.5 ride and shortly after backed that up with another excellent 8 point ride leaving Kerr requiring a combination of two scoring rides to win.

The Margaret River wave: backside time

Huge surf provided ideal conditions as the world's top surfers charged the 3 to 4m (12 feet plus) waves at Margaret River today.

Local favourite and current Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) World No. 1 surfer Taj Burrow lead the charge by easily winning both his round of 24 and round of 16 heats to advance through to tomorrow's quarter finals where he will face fellow WA surfer Yadin Nicol.

"It's seriously big out there this morning" said an excited Burrow after the heat win.
