The 2017 Wake Park World Series (WPWS) will feature five stops in three continents.
The World Wake Association (WWA) released the schedule for the 2017 season and confirmed a global purse of over $145,000, the largest prize money payout in the history of cable wakeboarding.
Once again, the WPWS will showcase the world's best riders and their tricks in two divisions: Pro Men and Features.
"The cable scene has been growing tremendously, and I know we're going to be seeing some new faces at WPWS events all over the world. This is the biggest competitive arena in cable wakeboarding, and the level of riding is just so insane you don't know what to expect," underlines Guenther Oka, the defending Wake Park World Series champion.
The new season kicks off at BSR Cable Park in Waco, Texas, and heads to California for two stages before flying to the beautiful Lago Azul, in Portugal, for the first-ever two-tower Features showdown.
The last two events of the season will get underway in the Philippines and Thailand.
"Cable parks opening all over the world have been the gateway for so many riders to experience wake, and in recent years the level has exploded on the WWA Wake Park World Series. We look forward to more stops in new, amazing locations worldwide," concludes Shannon Starling, president of the WWA.
