The best wave kitesurfers in the world will be crowned in the last stage of the Kite Surf Pro World Tour 2012, to be ridden in Hookipa, Hawaii, from the 29th November to the 8th December.
The world title race is on. The ever magical waves of Hookipa Beach Park are the perfect stage for the conclusion of the 2012 KSP World Championship Tour. Everything can happen, both in the Men and Women's divisions.
"Hookipa is such an amazing venue for wind sports", says Samantha Bittner, Hookipa Kite Surf Pro event coordinator. "We had such great success recently with the Maui Makani Classic windsurfing event and I am really looking forward to seeing what the best kitesurfers in the world can do out at the point."
The Men's wave kitesurfing title race is open. Patri Mclaughlin, the current tour points leader and local Maui rider, will play the last trumps in home waters.
His first world title is close, but reigning KSP world champion and current world number 2 Airton Cozzolino, as well as world number 3 Sebastian Ribeiro remain hot on McLaughlin's heels in a very tight battle.
In the Women's division, current female KSP World Tour frontrunner Jalou Langeree leads the fleet, but she is followed closely by 2011 world champion Ines Correia and Ninja Bichler. It all will come down to the wire at Hookipa.
