The Association of Professional Bodyboarders (APB) announced an agreement to sell World Bodyboarding Tour's TV rights to Epicentre.TV.

The broadcasting deal is valid for five years and includes the online broadcast to global audiences. Additionally, Epicentre.TV expects to be featuring all major APB World Tour stops on live television by 2018.

Alex Leon, CEO at APB, plans to increase pro bodyboarding's visibility so that the sport secures a naming rights sponsor for the World Tour and, as a result, more prize money for all riders.

"It is a great time for the sport and the industry involved as there will be significant growth in participation rates and commercial sales," notes Leon, who also aims at increasing the number of events held every season.

"Bodyboarding features some of the wildest, most courageous and most insane action in sport and we know the partnership with Epicentre.TV will take our coverage to the next level."

Epicentre.TV is an online multimedia platform that increases sports exposure and connects advertisers and sponsors to global content providers. The company is already working with several sports including boxing, golf, hockey, motorsport, and tennis.

"We see such a huge opportunity for the APB World Tour. The Tour is staged in some of the best locations in the world. This imagery combined with the spectacular bodyboard action will present compelling viewing for international broadcast markets," adds Luke Campbell, COO at Epicentre.TV.

"In addition to our live broadcasts, we will produce a one-hour highlights show at the conclusion of each major event which will feature the best action from each event and also provide an insight into the athletes, the locations, and communities that make the sport so special."
