Western Australia is ready for the opening event of the 2015 SunSmart WA Bodyboard Titles. The stage is set at Smith's Reef, in Yallingup.

The three-event series will kick off with bodyboarders competing across eight separate divisions. After Yallingup, the circuit will travel to Mandurah and the Perth prior to the National Titles in August.

"Yallingup has hosted plenty of amazing events over the years and we're excited to utilise the powerful breaks in the area. The forecast is looking positive for the weekend, so we're expecting to see some great action," underlines Justin Majeks, event manager at Surfing Western Australia.

Western Australia is renowned for producing world-class bodyboarders including Ryan Hardy, Chad Jackson, Sean Virtue, and Brad Hughes all carving out international careers after competing in the WA State Titles as juniors.

More recently the likes of Lewy Finnegan and Mandurah duo Davis Blackwell and George Humphreys have taken over the mantle of progressing the sport in WA and abroad. Davis Blackwell will spearhead a stacked Open Men's division, joining 2013 State Champion Jake Metcalfe, along with event stalwarts Ryan Hands and Brendan Gabel in an exciting mix of youth and experience.

South-West riders Lee Wilson, Lachlan Breakey, and Finn Haslau will all look to make the most of a local knowledge. While regional competitors from as far afield as Geraldton and Albany will be out to make a big first impression in Yallingup.
