Sam Bennet: chasing the GSS boys

Sam Bennet has conquered the Peruvian Inka Challenge 2011, a 6-star GQS bodyboarding event. The young Australian rider defeated the Brazilian Lucas Nogueira in the final heat.

Bennet conquers the biggest win of his career and is in great position to qualify for next year's Grand Slam Series. It a hard fought final with Bennet taking 12.50 points against Nogueira's 11.10 points.

Sam walked away with UDS$5,000 and 2000 GQS points. Australian Ben Player also achieved a good result in the event, with an equal third, helping him to finish below the 16th place, in the GSS Tour this year.

In the Drop-Knee final, Damian King (13.00 points) beat Jeff Hubbard (10.55 points) and took the title to Australia. Current world champion, Cesar Bauer, failed to fire on home soil and was bundled out of the quarters. King now leads the DKWT ratings.

The crew is packing up and will be heading to Arica, in Chile, for the third round of the Grand Slam events. The Arica Chilean Challenge kicks off on 20th May.
