Brent Dorrington: slicing water

Brent Dorrington and Dimity Stoyle have secured tickets for the the Quiksilver Pro and Roxy Pro Gold Coast 2013, after winning their respective Moskova Trials, at Rainbow Bay.

Dorrington will join Joel Parkinson and Matt Wilksinson in the first round of competition, during the opening season of the ASP World Championship Tour 2013.

The natural-footer opened quickly with an 8.50 and then backed up with an 8.90 to never be headed. Runner-up Matt Banting was left requiring an 8.90 score on the siren.

Sunshine Coast surfer Stoyle, fresh from victory in Newcastle, was forced to fight off an inform Nikki Van Dijk.

The 21–year-old came from behind with an 8.65 to snatch victory and will now go up against five-time world champion Stephanie Gilmore and Sage Erikson in round one.
