Okinawa Cup was held at Okinawa, south part of Japan, from February 20 to 22. This event is the last event of the 2008 series and the opening race for Japan Professional Windsurfing Association (JPWA) 2009 series. Day 2 and 3. No wind for the race. The biggest slalom race in Japan was closed with the result of first-day two races. Obviously, MauiSails Japan team could make a good start for 2009 season!!! Result: Sails:

Vasco Ribeiro has conquered the Gran Canaria Santa Pro Junior, at Playa de la Cicer, Las Palmas. The defending champion re-claimed his crown today in fantastic fashion, dominating the final against Vicente Romero from Spain.

Winners have been crowned at the O'Neill Kiteboard World Cup 2012, with winds blowing at 15-17 knots from the NNE direction, in the final day of competition. There were Freestyle and Race titles to deliver at The Hague, Holland.
Kevin Langeree and Ewan Jaspan took center stage in front of the judges, throwing down the best maneuvers and most impressive tricks they could showcase.

New Zealand windsurfing legend Bruce Kendall has thrown a torch into the US Sailing regatta field, after the North American officials voted for kiteboarding in the 2016 Olympic Games.
The winner of the gold and bronze medals in RS:X windsurfing, who also enjoys kitesurfing,says US Sailing representatives "have not done very deep research on the costs, risks and benefits of this subject and been part of this poorly made decision to remove windsurfing from the Olympic Games in Rio".

Kai Lenny is the first windsurfer to cross Lake MichiganThursday, 24 May 2012
Kai Lenny has successfuly completed the cross of the Lake Michigan, in USA, in two hours and 30 minutes. The 19-year old waterman windsurfed, from shore to shore, starting at Sturgeon Bay and landing in Frankfort.
Lenny is the first windsurfer to sail from the west to east coast of Lake Michigan. The challenge demands 56 miles of intense riding and the Hawaiian did it at an average speed of 25 knots.

Economic crisis hits IBA European bodyboarding contestsFriday, 25 May 2012
The global economic crisis has been severely affecting Europe and bodyboarding has suffered an important cut in its budget. In 2012, the European leg of the IBA World Tour will be smaller.
