WOWI - 10 Years is a celebration of all the hard work put in by its members and the great long lasting friendships made from this group - not to mention tons of windsurfin’. This event is open to everybody with a love of the water; so do come along and bring your friends! To celebrate that WOWI has successfully been in existance, all the hard work put in by its members and all the great the long lasting friendships made from this group Laura Macaulay and myself have teamed up with the go ahead from Aishling to organise: WOWI - 10 years and counting! This weekend is going ahead on the 19th - 20th of September 2009 down in Castlegregory Co Kerry. WOWI - 10 years and counting is a celebration open to everybody and plans to be pretty relaxed catch up for all the new and old people to windsurfing and surfing. Just to give ya a flavour of what we have in mind for this event this is how we see it panning out. Here’s a flavour of what will be on over the weekend: Red Bull Tent | Demo Gear | Fancy Dress Party [theme - anything beginning with ‘w’] | GPS Equipment available | DJ and Live Music | Great food in Spillanes Pub | Table Quiz | discount on gear rental & lessons through Jamie Knox | Spot Prizes | WOWI is a network of women windsurfers based in Ireland. It was established by Charlotte & Anna in September 1999 with the aim of raising the profile and level of women’’s windsurfing in Ireland. It was also formed with the idea of introducing windsurfers to each other on a sporting and social level so that together we can meet and share all the excitement and challenges of this exhilarating sport. And no, we WOWIs have nothing against men - in fact, some of our best friends etc etc. We just want to get more girls on the water whatever way we can. The more, the merrier, so the guys are more than welcome along too!!
